WHY IS THERE A WATERMARK ON MY VIDEO?
A watermark appears when Movavi cannot confirm that all features used in your project are fully licensed or activated.
This can happen for a variety of reasons, even if you've already purchased and activated the program. The guide below will help you identify the cause and get things working again.
Quick check: what do you see?
Start by choosing the situation that best matches what you see.

  • The program asks me to pay again during export
→ Go to Case 2: Paid Effects Used in the Project

  • The program says “Trial version”
→ Go to Case 1 or Case 3

  • I see a watermark, but I already activated the program
→ Start with Case 2 (this is the most common scenario)
Case 1: the program is still in trial mode
If the software is not activated, exported videos will include a watermark.

How to fix it
  1. Launch the Movavi program
  2. Open the Activation menu
  3. Enter or paste your activation key
  4. Click Activate and restart the program

If activation is successful, you’ll see a confirmation message.

Case 2: the program is activated, but paid effects are used

This is the most common reason for watermark confusion.

How this looks
  • The program asks you to pay during export.
  • You already activated the program.
  • Some items in your project are marked with a crown icon.
Note: Effects include not only visual effects, but also transitions, titles, stickers, and audio tracks.

These are often added unintentionally.
Why this happens
Some Effects require a separate Movavi Effects subscription and are not included in the standard program license by default.

What you can do
You have two options:

Option 1: Remove paid effects
  1. Remove all items marked with a crown icon.
  2. Export the video again.

Option 2: Activate a Movavi Effects subscription
This unlocks the paid Effects used in your project.

Important note:
Your program license and Effects subscription must be linked to the same email address used during purchase.
How Effects activation works

If both licenses are registered to the same email:
  • The Effects subscription is activated automatically.
  • Open the Movavi program and start using the Effects right away.

If the licenses are registered to different emails you'll need to activate the Effects manually.
How to activate Effects manually

  1. Open the Movavi program
  2. Go to the Packs tab
  3. Right-click a pack → choose Activate
  4. Insert the corresponding activation key

Once one Effects pack is activated, the remaining Effects from the same subscription will activate automatically.


Case 3: the program shows “Trial version” after activation (Windows only)
In some cases on Windows, the program may still show “Trial version” even after successful activation.

How to fix it
  1. Right-click the Movavi program icon
  2. Select Properties
  3. Open the Compatibility tab
  4. Enable Run this program as an administrator
  5. Apply the changes and restart the program

This allows the program to read the activation data correctly.
When to contact support
Contact support if:
  • activation fails after following the steps above
  • the watermark still appears after removing paid Effects and restarting the program
