“Program is already running” error

Step 1: Make sure the app is not already running

Step 2: Restart your computer

Step 3: Check if the screen recording module is running in the background

Step 4: Close the process manually

Optional: Disable automatic startup

When to contact Movavi Customer Service

If the application doesn’t start and shows a message that it is already running, this usually means the program is already active in the background.

Follow the steps below in order.

Make sure you didn’t start the application twice.

If the option Restart application is available, select it and wait for the program to reopen.

Restarting your computer clears background processes that may prevent the application from starting correctly.

After the restart, try launching the program again.

In some cases, the screen recording module starts automatically with the system and remains active in the background.

If you don’t see the module icon in the system tray:

To stop the screen recorder from launching automatically, follow these steps:

Contact Movavi Customer Service if the issue persists after completing all steps above.

Include:

what happens when you try to start the application
whether the screen recording module was running in the background
which steps you have already tried.

Check the system tray, including hidden icons.
If you see a Movavi screen recording icon, open it and close the module.
Try launching the main application again.

Open Task Manager by using Ctrl+Alt+Del or by right clicking on the Start icon.
Locate the Movavi application or screen recording process.
End the process.
Launch the application again.

Open the Screen Recorder settings.
Go to Preferences → General.
Disable the option that allows the program to start automatically with the system.
