If the recorded voiceover sounds distorted, duplicated, echoing, or lower quality than expected, this is usually related to microphone selection, system audio settings, or recording configuration.
Follow the steps below in order.
When recording a voiceover, make sure you’ve selected the correct microphone.
Many systems have multiple audio input devices, such as:
Before starting the recording:
This happens when sound from the speakers is captured again by the microphone.
This usually resolves the issue immediately.
On Windows, audio may be duplicated if the Listen to this device option is enabled.
Low audio quality settings may affect clarity.
On Windows, also verify the audio format:
Outdated or incompatible sound drivers may affect recording quality.
Contact Movavi Customer Service if the issue persists after completing all steps above.
If you record system sound and microphone at the same time, and your microphone does not have acoustic echo cancellation, you may hear duplicated audio.
Start here: check the selected microphone
Case 1: Echo or duplicated sound in the recording
Case 2: “Listen to this device” is enabled (Windows)
Case 3: Audio quality settings are too low
Case 4: Outdated sound drivers (Windows)
Case 5: Volume levels are too low
