When to contact Movavi Customer Service
If you experience audio sync problems, conversion errors, or failed DVD imports, the issue is usually related to DVD structure, copy protection, or disc condition.

Follow the steps below to identify the cause.
Before proceeding:
If playback already fails or stutters, the disc itself may be damaged.
Only .VOB files contain the actual video content.
Sometimes the program may have trouble reading the disc correctly.
This method often resolves problems related to incorrect DVD structure recognition.
This limitation is related to copyright restrictions.
Conversion issues may occur if:
If the video plays correctly but does not convert properly, you can try recording it instead.
If the DVD plays normally but conversion fails, you can record the playback using Movavi Screen Recorder.
This does not modify or remove copy protection and relies on real-time playback.
Some DVDs – including personal recordings – may contain copy protection. The program will prompt an error if it detects any copy-protection mechanisms on the DVD.
Movavi programs do not support removing or bypassing DVD copy protection. If a DVD is protected, its contents cannot be converted.

A standard DVD contains several file types:
  • make sure the DVD is readable on your computer
  • check whether the DVD plays normally in a media player
  • .IFO and .BUP – navigation and backup files
  • .VOB – video and audio data
  1. Open the DVD folder on your computer.
  2. Copy only the .VOB files to a new folder on your hard drive.
  3. Exclude the file VIDEO_TS.VOB from the copied folder.
This file attempts to recreate the DVD structure and may cause conversion or audio sync issues.
4. Import or convert only the files named VTS_0x_y.VOB from this folder.
5. Check whether the audio sync or conversion issue persists.
  • the DVD has scratches or physical damage
  • the disc was written incorrectly
  • the video data is partially corrupted.
  • Try playing the DVD from start to finish in a media player.
  • If playback skips, freezes, or desynchronizes, the disc may be damaged.
  • the DVD is not copy-protected
  • the .VOB file was copied locally and still fails
  • playback works correctly, but conversion consistently fails
  • the DVD type (home-recorded or commercial)
  • the exact error message (if any)
  • screenshots of the DVD file structure
