Movavi may use OpenGL if it cannot initialize your GPU correctly. This can happen because of driver issues, hardware problems, or if your GPU does not support the OpenGL version required to preview or save video files.

Common symptoms

You may experience:

• the program doesn’t start or crashes on launch
• black, white, green, or empty preview screen
• distorted preview (green lines, flickering, artifacts)
• missing transitions or effects in preview or exported videos.

Step 1: Update graphics drivers

Outdated drivers are the most common cause of OpenGL issues.

If drivers are already up to date, continue below.

Step 3: Check your source files

Not all visual issues are caused by OpenGL.
If the preview shows:

• green lines
• heavy pixelation
• corrupted frames

the issue may be related to low-quality, damaged, or non-standard source files.

Try:

• importing a different video file

• checking if the issue occurs only with specific files

Contact Movavi Customer Service if:

• the program still doesn’t start after switching OpenGL modes
• visual issues persist with different files
